Making a move

Tomorrow is my last day at work in Austin and I am heading out to the beautiful Texas hill country.

A while back my wife and I were in Mason (where she is from) and were told about a guy getting a divorce and needing to sell his house. We checked it out and decided we just couldn't pass it up. Lets just say that my house payment is going to be less than my wifes Saturn Vue payment.

My wife has been back in Mason for the past couple of months working while I finished training my replacment and getting things in order to sell our house in Austin. I have traveled every weekend doing some work on the place (does need some remodeling) and building a fence.

Now I'm down to one last day at work and then we are taking a road trip to Phoenix (where I am from) for a week. We will spend some time in Sedona, Payson and Cave Creek. All this time without worring about my pager going off or what is getting screwed up at work.

Then its time to come back and look for a job and hope the house in Austin sells in the next two months.

The new place is on a 1/4 of a acre and has a old 500 sq ft shop in the back that sits on a concrete slab.

It's just nice and exciting to get away from the stress of the semiconductior buisness and lower my cost of living to the point that it doesn't mater too much what type of job I get.

Guess I am just a little exited and wanted to share.

Re: Making a move

Only when you are young can you do this. I wish you luck. I have one of my daughters and her husband living in San Antonio and they really like it there.

SOunds like a great plan. Plus a shop already there you can't beat that. What is Mason near?

Re: Making a move

It is north of Kerrville. I had to look it up. I had never heard of it.

I have ridden my motor scooter from San Antonio to London, TX once (a real buttkiller on a scooter), and it looks like you are in that area. It was nice up there.

I like any plan that involves making life simpler. Good luck with it.
