never seen a 67-72 with a catalitac converter so therefore have never seen or heard of a catback of any size to fit these trucks

Re: Does anyone make a 3" catback

With the terminology you are using you won't find anything.
A cat back or after cat system is for later model vehicles that are equipped with a catilitic converter. These systems are sold as kits to make it easier to prove legality as far as emissions controls. Some places the cops can give you a ticket if they think you violated smog laws and then you have to prove yourself to the judge. A cat back system at least when they first started making them came with a card to keep in the glove box showing it's 50 state certified and therefor legal.

What you are looking for is a complete exhaust system.
Try calling your local 'regular' muffler shops you may be suprised.

Re: Does anyone make a 3" catback

I think MagnaFlow just released a kit for these trucks, might not be 3 inch and it is only available in a rear side exit but it should be on their site under cat back even though there is no cat that is still the classification they use.

Re: Does anyone make a 3" catback

Well I found it on their website but apparently it only comes in 2.5 inch pipe and is a little pricy. Here is a link anyway
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=Trucks&id=76

Also just as a side note on magnaflows homepage the truck and SUV catagory is represented by a SWEET 67!

Are you looking for 3" duals?? What are you running under the hood to require that?

Yup, I think you would be happy w/ 2.5, H or X connecting them and free flowing mufflers.

Some muffler place should be able to do you a custom job.

Re: Does anyone make a 3" catback

I did 3" manderal on my truck. I bought the bends and cut the angles needed then but welded them system together. Alot of hours involvedbut thats the only way to get 3" that I know.

2.5 dual will be fine. The muffler and tail pipe will determin the sound for the most part. It should sound really nice anyways.

"H" or "X" pipe will give the even tone. I always liked the sound of dynomax super turbo mufflers. They are low and throaty without breaking the bank. They are even lifetime gauranteed for those of you who live in the salt banks of the midwest.

3" exhaust will not provide enough back pressure from what I've heard. 2.5" will be big enough to provide for lots of HP, and small enough to give ample backpressure.

I have a custom 3" dual exhaust with the Super Turbos on my 6.2 Diesel Suburban 4wd.It sounds really cool.I`ll be mounting a`69 cab with a utility bed on that frame. It`s going to be one hella work truck.I drive the `Burb now and think how cool it`ll be to here a`69 K/30 Diesel going down the road sounding like that.

Re: Does anyone make a 3" catback

ya, I ordered up some mandrel 180 bends from summit and had a local shop cut/weld them up into a turbo-back system for my brick (volvo). I love the sound...even on the 4-cyl it sounds nice and deep

Re: Does anyone make a 3" catback

I`ve had a custom-bent dual system on my`90 Blazer since it was new.I put stainless Thrush hi-flow cats on it.It changed my view on cats.I`d put them on an old truck if I had to,someone gave me some,or I had that much extra money.
