It Wont Move!!!!!
Im about to rip my hair out. I decided to try to drive the truck a lil forward then a lil back up again just to make sure the shifter and everything else was workin good before I got any further putting it back together. To my disbelief the truck wont budge in any gear. It will learch just a bit like its going to but then nothing. The clutch is what im suspecting I did buy it off of ebay and it did appear to be new. Anybody out there have any suggestions.

Need a little more info...
Like what you have, what you bought, what you installed kinda stuff. When I read the beginning of the post, I was thinking 'automatic' |

Re: It Wont Move!!!!!
we need more details, is your clutch hydraulic or conventional?
can you put the truck in gear with the engine off and then "bump" the starter to see if the truck tries to move under its own power.

Re: It Wont Move!!!!!
its a 67 c-10 2wd originally inline 6. Now has a 327 installed in the inline 6 location with a manual clutch gm 3 speed. The clutch I got was for a 327 with 10 spline input like the tranny I got. I had the wife rock the truck forward and back while I layed under it and looked at the clutch I could see the disc itself moving Im pretty sure thats not supposed to move at all with the clutch engaged.

Re: It Wont Move!!!!!
Did you remember the pilot bearing and the throwout bearing?
Just asking, it is really easy to forget something. How does the clutch "feel" when you depress and release the pedal?

The clutch feels pretty good and strong come to think of it though I cant remember if I put a pilot bearing in or not. I know it has the throwout bearing.

Re: It Wont Move!!!!!
I figured out what I did wrong. Thanks for all the help guys... Some how I managed to figure out a way to get the throw out bearing for the 6 cylinder mixed up with the new throw out bearing. The 6 cylinder bearing is much thicker and therfore causeing my clutch not to engage. Of course now the hard part I gota pull that tranny out to fix my screw up. Thankfully I still have the other bearing. man do I feel dumb.......

Don't feel bad. If I had a dollar for everytime I've had to re-assemble something I wouldn't be messing with my truck: I'd just go BUY what I want!

Re: It Wont Move!!!!!
Yes I totally agree, Man I hate having to do things over and over but hey practice makes perfect, try this one on for size, I had an engine completely rebuilt and didn't install the fuel pump rod, Now talk about frustrating. I had the engine back in the truck everyting all hooked up and couldn't get it to stay running. several weekends later, I found it out. DOH
