transmissions

Has anyone swapped a T56 in their old truck? I am interested in swapping a T56 in mine, and would prefer to keep the mechanical clutch if possible. Anyone have anything to point me in the right direction?

Re: transmissions

look at my gallery - pay attention to the "ls1 install" gallery. Notice how far back the shifter is - it sets up underneath the edge of the seat. Unless you send it to Keisler auto in TN to move the shifter to the forward position, it ain't gonna be too comfy in your truck.

i plan on having them rework mine. it's 500 bucks - better yet dont bother buying a T56 get their TKO model or wahtever, i think the shifter is actually already in the forward position.

Re: transmissions

The TKO can be setup with the mid shift position (this puts the shifter linkage ~7 inches forward of the rear mount position). This is just about right for a motor set in the 6 cyl mounts.
