Friend of ours needs help w/exhaust

He's got a 86 4x4 with a 350. It has a cracked exhaust manifold. He said this truck has the high temp exhaust option?? Does anyone know about this, and would a regular exhaust manifold fit? He doesn't want to spend much on it as it is very rarely used, and my sell soon. Anyone got one they want to unload?

Re: Friend of ours needs help w/exhaust

pictures would help.. he maybe mistaking this for the hot air chimney on the passenger side manifold that feeds warm air to the engine when its cold. This is not needed by the truck and should detach from the manifold if he would like to reuse it.. or go with headers and not worry about it..

If its the emission tubes that are in each exhaust "tube" then that is part of emissions and yes it will cost more, though they do make headers for those as well, but they are costly also...

I beliebe swervin (mike) has a set... though its been some time since i have looked at his truck.. i know someone on here had this...

If it was the first thing i mentioned he can do fine without it.. if its the second option. then he might need to bite the bullett and dish out some cash.

Re: Friend of ours needs help w/exhaust

He is looking for the stainless steel exhaust manifolds that were an option in motorhome chassis.

They are available for the small block and big block.

Try www.car-part.com
Look at an '85 Chevy Suburban 20 1988 and down, exhaust manifold, USA (for area), push search.......

If it is the stainless exhaust, it can be welded.
