Wiring For 01 Chevy Bucket Seats

I was looking at my 01 chev buckets today, wonder if anyone knows what wires to hook up to make them functional.

Re: Wiring For 01 Chevy Bucket Seats

It it is anything like the seats I am using out of a 97 silverado, you'll need a HD power line run from the battery, fused at around 30 amps. My dirvers side bucket has 2 orange wires, 1 for the lumbar, 1 for the power seat controls., A single orange wire is on the passenger side for the lumbar. Those 3 go to the new seperately fuse hot lead. Each seat also has a black wire. Just find a good ground and that should do it.

These seats draw a lot of current. You do not want to run them through the stock fuse box. They were not made for it. I can't think of where the newer style would be wired any differently except maybe the colors. for the hot leads. I'm probably also going to run a realy for the seats also to lessen the need for that long a heavy gauge run of wire.

Not quite the same, there is an orange and Black(heay gauge) and then 4 small gauge wires, have to check the colors.

Re: Wiring For 01 Chevy Bucket Seats

Are your seat controls built into your seats or into a console/door panel? Mine has the control built into ther seats, so I don't see any extra small wires.

Controls are built into the seats, checked the other small wires there is 2 yellow ones hooked together, then a black w/white stripe, and 1 green.

Re: Wiring For 01 Chevy Bucket Seats

Not like this will help but over on the blazer forum there was a thread a while back. Several people were putting tahoe/suburban seats in their blazers. I remember it because a member had warned that if you didn't hook up the wires the seatsbelt could fail during a wreck. I wouldn't have thought that. Anyway search for that or go to the blazer forum and post
Hope this helps

Re: Wiring For 01 Chevy Bucket Seats

Might have to just trace the wires, i think for the smaller wirest here is probably a seatbelt warning light, and seatbelt lock, the 2 large wires are probably for the motors.

Got it figured out, big orange is 12 volts, big black is ground , that's all you gotta hook up, the seat belt have manual locks on them.
