My truck was already lowered when I bought it... does anyone have any idea how much of a drop I have? I want to bring it down more, but dont want to buy the same drop

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

Those look like car springs (Monte Carlo or ?????), and it also looks like there is a block on top of the trailing arm. My guess is about 4" - 5" in the rear, and about 2.5 - 3" in the front (may be drop spindles or the springs are cut).

The upper mounts for the rear shocks are stock, so it looks like there isn't much travel left there. If you keep it the same or go lower, I would buy/make the relocated shock mounts.

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

This is the best I could get of the front.. I still have four wheel drums, so I dont think they make a drop spindle... all four springs are blue, so i figured it was some sort of aftermarket drop spring.. what makes you think they are for a car?

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

Those are truck springs and they don't appear to be sitting on anything other than the trailing arm?? Because the truck is sitting level my guess would be either a 4/6 or a 3/4 drop (first number front, second number rear). If it's a 4/6 thats about all you can do with springs (but I think you'd have to have drop spindles for that??), anyway my guess would be that it is a 3/4. With any drop that uses springs I'd recommend shock relocator kits front and rear and an adjustable panhard bar for the rear. In my opinion thats a nice looking drivable stance...

Those springs are the same color as the Monte Carlo springs I bought for the rear of my 68, and they gave me a 4" drop. And looking at the picture below, there looks to be aluminum 1" blocks between the housing and the trailing arm (arrows).

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

If you want a little more rake, take out the blocks. Otherwise, it looks tough as-is!

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

I think once I pull that big ass diamond plate rear bumper off that it will end up lifting the back a little

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

Looks like about a 2.5-3'' front and 4'' rear to me.

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

I like the stance. I am also a fan of those wheels,(have em on my 92), but a larger diameter wheel and small profile tire would give it a low appearance by filling up the wheel well a little more.........imo.

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

What does it measure from the frame to the axle tube? My truck has a 6" drop in the rear which left me about 2.5". Early classic claims you will have 3" between the frame and axle when using a 6" drop. As far as the front goes.......who knows? My truck has a dropped spindle so I wouldn't know how to give you an accurate measurement. Someone on here with nothing but a dropped spring might go out and take a couple measurements for you if you asked em real nice like . I don't think a bumper or fender lip measurement will help you unless the other person has the same wheel and tire setup as you. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Re: anyone know how much my truck is dropped

frame to axle is exactly 3 1/2 inches.... so I guess its prob a 4 inch spring and a 1 inch block... Thanks for all the info... I think ill just leave it alone till I can afford my bags
