Rocker Panel ?
I know..do the search...I did but not the answer I was looking for.
I bought inner and outer rockers from GMCPauls. Removed the right side and went to install the inner, everything looked good. Installed Outer tacted it in place. Now there is a 3/4 gap from the inner and outer in the door opening where the chrome strip goes. Is it suppose to be like that? the bottom of the two pieces line up. (BTW does the bottom inner and outter rocker need to be welded together? This is my first rocker replacement so don't through rocks at me.

Re: Rocker Panel ?
When I took the Rockers off of my 69 there were probably 20 spot welds that attached the inner and outer rocker bottom together. So I would guess that you need to weld them together at the bottom.

Re: Rocker Panel ?
Ideal is about 3/8 to 1/2" but with most after market rockers you would need to use two and section them into one to get this gap. 3/4" will work you just may have some trouble getting the screws in for the carpet molding but it will work. Yes you do wnat to weld the bottom in as well. What I like to do is drill holes in the inner rocker bottom and clamp the two together and weld from the rear. Make sure your weep holes do not get welded or filled.
