Anyone thought of FI V6?

With price of gas bein super high has anyone given serious thought about doing a fuel injected V6 swap? I have my 2wd blazer waiting to get restored and am seriously considering putting in a 1995 and up camaro V6. I think the 98 and up is rated for 200 hp. that should be more than enough for a daily driver no?

Re: Anyone thought of FI V6?

200 hp should work, I have a 150 hp(Might be a bit more now ) Cummins in my 3/4 ton and she treats me right. High 30's mpg, and all the torque you could want

Re: Anyone thought of FI V6?

why go with a V6? The new 98+ V8's (4.8L, 5.3L) get the exact same gas mileage as that '95 V6 you're looking at!

that, combined with a six speed tranny and a reprogram on the PCM by someone who knows what they're doing will net you 20+ MPG with big balls to match!

I agree. I have a 2001 S-10 with the 4.3 Vortec and it gets around 18-20 MPG, but its a smaller truck. If you put it in a fullsize, it would have to work a little harder, and prolly wouldn't get quite the same mileage. The newer LS1 V-8's have a ton more power, get around the same mileage, and there plenty of aftermarket and conversion parts for these trucks. It would also prolly be a lot easier swap.

Re: Anyone thought of FI V6?

My old 2004 Silverado (RIP) and my 2005 Silverado both of them extended cab swb with the 5.3. THe 04 had the lm7 and the 05 the l33. The Silverados got about 3-4 mpg more than my 03 s10 zr2 with a 4.3 did.

Re: Anyone thought of FI V6?

I have been kicking around this 4.3 idea for my 2wd "Roadster" project,
the main reason I was considering it was it would have less hp, but she
would also be lighter, since she's gonna be bagged on all four corners.
