Got lowering kit, need help

i have recently purchased a 3/4 drop kit for my 86 c10. it came with a 3 inch coils up front and a hanger shackle kit for the back. my question is this

Can i switch the 4 inch rear with a 5 inch flip and still have a level truck?

What is easier on the truck and my hands, the 5 or 4 rear kit?

The kit has not been installed yet.

Re: Got lowering kit, need help

Our trucks come with a 2" rake to them. To keep it level when dropped you need to drop the rear 2" more than the front so 3/5 is what you are after if you are wanting it to sit level.

Installing a flip kit is much easier than shackles and hangers. It's tough to get the hangers off and to get easy access you really need to take off the bed.

Personally if it were me and I wanted a 3/5 drop I'd go with the flip kit. A 5" drop won't bottom out if you don't hit any big bumps. You can always remove the stock bump stops to gain a tad more room.

Thanks Mike, i really dig your truck. I would be one happy guy if my truck ended up looking like that.
