Tailgate handle relocator questions.
I ordered a sir michaels tailgate handle relocator for my 74, and as I was getting ready to cut into my tailgate the directions confused me (what else is new) they are written for 67-72 and 73-80 sop that's where the confusion factor comes in, as it reads "this kit MUST be used with a tailgate skin" and I don't know if they are talking about the 67-72 or the 73-80? has anyone installed one of these? I'm going to call Sir Michaels in the morning but I thought I'd ask you guys....

Re: Tailgate handle relocator questions.
A tailgate skin covers the outside of the gate some times they are used to smooth it. Here a pic of my blazer with a skin on the gate.

Re: Tailgate handle relocator questions.
Yeah I know what the skin is, but what I'm wondering is if I need to run one on my 74 to run this handle relocator, so does anyone have a tailgate relocated without a skin? I guess I could just cut and find out! The blazer looks good....Homi

Re: Tailgate handle relocator questions.
I dont think you need the whole skin, I think you can get away wih just using the filler panel to cover up the old handle location.
