What size of tires?

HI all!

We have a 72 c10 with coil springs at stock height. What is the best size of tire that will fit our 15" rally wheels? I am thinking about 275/60R15 BFG TA - will they rub on the front when turning? they are 11" wide and 28" tall. or maybe 255/70R15 which are 10.2" wide and 29.1" tall. What size do you have experience with?

Re: What size of tires?

I was running 275/60R15's on my 15x8 steel wheels and 4 wheel drums with no rubbing. I would like to go to 50's on the rear some day.

Re: What size of tires?

I was running 275/60/15's on my 69 SWB Step...no problems. I just changed to 255/70/15's. I think it sets better...these fill the fender wells more. Just my opinion. I eventually plan to go with the Copperhead tire combo 255/60/17 on front and 285/60/17 on back.

Re: What size of tires?

I ran 275/60s all the way around, no rubbing with stock height. After I lowered it and added discs up front, the front was widened a few inches and it rubs on the outer fender during sharp cornering or hard bumps. I will eventually run a 235/70 on a 7" wheel up front to keep the height the same but lose the rubbing problem.

Re: What size of tires?

I ran small ones up front, It was slammed, but I ran 295/50/15's out
back, my truck was 6 lug, so I was running the 73 and up 4wd rally's
