Steering Wheel
Anyone mess with using a late model (1500 series- pre air bag) steering wheel. I have the opertunity to get one at my cost (help him remove it and put on a custom wheel). I was wondering if it will even bolt to my 70 and if so what particualrs I might have to rig up...like wiring.
Thanks for the help

I got one too!!!
It shoud just bolt right, you need to rig the horn button.....ask Longhornmail.... hes the pro
when you remove your current steering wheel get the little plastic horn ring....it has a little cone on it and nipple like thing, with a little metal button that you can depress and it will spring back out. on the back it has a copper band that touches the horn wire. just put that little nipple/button thingy throught the largest hole in the new wheel...and you need to some how run a wire from that little button to the spade connector on the button....you'll see....AND GO GET IT!!!! I haven't put mine in yet so I can't really explain too well...

From what I remember, I just slid mine on...it was off of a 92 S-10 blazer, and onto a '70 Chevy 3/4 ton.
That was back in early '98, so I could be forgetting messing with the horn button guts...if it's more than 10 min ago...it's kinda fuzzy to me. |

I believe all the splines from american made g.m. vehicals are the same size, & will interchange.
