SM465 bellhousing question

I have a '68 K10 and am changing from 292 to 307 engine. Does anybody know if I can use the original 292 bellhousing?

Re: SM465 bellhousing question

yep everything will swap I attempted goin from 350 to 292 while i rebuilt the 350 and i had everything swapped and ready to drop in and then i realized the 292 has staggered motor mounts and the v-8 and 250-6 banger have the matched motor mounts. You will need to use the v-8 flywheel bolts because the 292 has bigger diameter bolts. should be an fairly straightforward swap good luck with everything.

Re: SM465 bellhousing question

Thanks for replying guys! I hadn't even thought about the flywheel and clutch being the same also, that will save some money. As for the old engine, according to the numbers on the block, it is either original to the truck or at least correct for that year so I am saving it in case I decide to rebuild and put it back later. I actually wanted to rebuild the 292 and use it, but will have a very good running 307 left from another project and can't see not using it. Thanks again for your help!
