How to measure lug patern and what wheels fit

OK I have a 68 that the axels have been replaced with lord knows what. THey are 5 lug and I dont have wheels. Anyone know how I can measure the patern so that I can pick out wheels for these without having to trailer it to the tire\wheel shop.
