Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
Is this question out of line? We all do throw around $$$ spent very easily on specific jobs we are completing on our Blazers.
So here is the question: How much money have you invested into your blazer? For me, after the purchase, shipping, rebuilt tranny and tcase+$1000 of new rubber and junk that has yet to be installed I'm easily at $14k for a pretty decent ride. But I have yet to even touch my upholstery, springs or top. I know I'll never be done, but I see this thing hitting $20k+ very fast. Will it be sick? Of course.

Re: Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
Sounds about right. By the time I'm done with my 69 Suburban, I will be close if not over that (and that's with selling about 3K worth of parts that I pulled off of my sub).

Well les C.......over $4k by the time the new crate motor was up and running. $600 for new tranny rebuild. $300 for rubber and door components. $1k for new rubber. Well over another $1k on misc. gages, stereo, upgrades, etc..... Oh ya and i paid too much for the rig in the 1st place. I traded a 97 tahoe worth around $6500 for it.

Re: Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
Rig $9100
New Dash Pad $79 Stereo ~$350 Soft Top $670 New Seals $250 I'm sure there is more, but I can't remember. Most everything else has been up keep - tune up, brakes, waterpump, etc. Not sure if your factoring things like that into the costs. I've had a couple guys offer $20K, but they were just talkers with no money. I figure I could sell it for what I have into it if needed, but there are no plans to sell.

Re: Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
No friggin' idea! And I don't want to know! I bought for $2500 in 1991 and it's been spending my money ever since. Whatever it is, there's more to come and it's far too much for a truck that spends 95% of it's time sitting under a cover in my driveway.

Re: Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
Bad question! But since you asked,
70 2wd Blazer $2000 but work has not started yet. $20-$40k when done. 71 2wd swb $17k so far, $5-10 to go. 70 Bronco $35k 73 Bronco $20k from me and $30K from PO 2005 rock crawler buggy $22k 71 Bronco $5k 59K miles second owner. Once it is converted to 2wd and I drop in the Cobra 4.6L SC motor and trany and complete $25k - $35K Experance.... Priceless Kevin LFD Inc. Last edited by Rokcrln; 04-30-2006 at 01:29 AM. |

Re: Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
bouncy hahah , he told you to put mickey thompson wheels and tires on that blazer! But seriously, do you drive that blazer more then your other? If so, how often does the other get used?
ian i like seing that pic of your truck, those are some nice bumpers! Id like to see some other shots with your blazer, esp being in HAWAII and all!!! ($3k sounds pretty f!cking good for hawaii but i guess i obviously dont know the market over there that well!). I have no idea how much i've spent, ok that's a lie, i dont have all the paper work at my my apt. where i'm living currently. Can't remember how much my blazer was when i got it my junior year in highschool... so that's about 4 years ago. I think it was like $3,800 to maybe $4,500? (i'll find out and get back to this thread on that asap, now i'm interested). So, blazer -..............$3-45???.XXX? engine work -......$1000? Susp. -..............$1200 tires - .............. $700 soft top -.................$700 mufflers-............$200 sold hard top for $500, so 500- credit ------------------------------ Lets say $8,000 to $9,000 at the most, and hopefully maybe not even as much. I was rounding up. Man, this thread sucks, i don't want to play anymore I guess i would be stupid to put much more into this and not buy something already nice Well, enough thinking about that for now and i'll just enjoy what i have! Re: Do I dare ask how much you have spent?
I initially paid $2500 for my '71. Since then, I've spent seven years and a couple thousand hours on it. How much can I charge for labor and storage fees? Parts is cheap...
