ABS Idiot Light
I have a 1995 Sierra and the ABS light keeps staying on. Does the dealer have to turn this off or is it something I can do?

If you have a shop manual, it'll tell you how to retrieve the error code, and what it means. If not, then I can get the details for you. Good luck!

May not be the same thing but on my '89 S-15 (not true ABS but does have a vlalve that prevents full braking power to the rear before the fronts are fully loaded)the brake light lit up on the dash. Owners manual said to have vehicle towed or drive it carefully to the shop. I never noticed a problem braking.
GM Goodwrench guy looked it over and found nothing wrong. He said when they disconnected the battery it clears the computer and when re-connected the light did not come back on. Try clearing the codes by disconnecting the battery and if the light comes back on there may be a problem somewhere. Just a thought, good luck with the truck, Brian. |

my 95 spittered and sputtered then the light came on. No engine code, so did you have any luck with getting rid of your light?
