stubborn steering arm

How do I get this @#%*# steering arm off my '86 K20? Got the tie rod out and 3 nuts off. Soaked in liquid wrench but the wedge locks on the studs are not loosening. Got the rest of the lift kit on but this is a bugger!

Had the same problem installing a lift on a 85 K5. You need to strike the steering arm on the side with a BIG HAMMER. On mine it took a couple sharp hits then it popped off. Good luck.

Mine took a BFG and some serious blows to knock it off.

Working on it 2 days. Now I'm swingin' an 8lb sledge with a 4' handle. Am I doing something wrong? I backed the 3 nuts way off and took the tie rod out. Something's gonna break! Yikes!

Bouncytruck, I see you're my neighbor.

Thumbs up

are you hitting it on top or on bottom? use plenty of some kind of w-d40 also hit it on the sides I used a chisel on the cone lock nuts to try and turn them a little it is a ***** but very well worth changeing becouse bump-steer can kill. Good luck and I will ask a couple friends in the mooring what they did to get theres off. But you are going to have to try to turn thoose Cone locks a little mine had little goves in the top that helped turn them . later B.

I got it! I got it! The neighbors came out to see what all the celebrating and yelling was about. Burnzomatic and more hammering. I think I ruined the upper ball joint - it's got play in it now - S**t :mad
