Re: Where these came from?

They look like 73 and newer Chevy truck engine brackets. WES

Re: Where these came from?

Those are 73 - 80 Chevy diesel mounts which is actually a 350 Olds engine..

Re: Where these came from?

Do they have to be diesel mounts or can they just be gas. I found some that look like them this afternoon, but they were in a 74' that orig. had a 454 then ended with a 350.

Re: Where these came from?

I believe all those are the same in those trucks.I`ve never heard of anyone swapping diesel/vise-versa or SBC to BBC/vise-versa needing to change towers.

Re: Where these came from?

The stands are for sure 73-up, as already mentioned. The pads LOOK much like the deisel pcs, but are not. I have a set on the shed wall from the 455 Olds days, that I personally pulled from a deisel truck. My guess is somebody did an engine swap, & used what car mounts ( steel pads) that they had available, & the mounts to match. The stands are not a direct bolt in for the older trucks, but you can make em work. The A body (cutlass), & the deisel trucks use the same rubber mounts on the block, so if you are planting an Olds engine, go for the cutlass motor mounts, use the truck stand(redrill or weld down), & if the pads fit, use em(also weld down). The deisel pcs DO indeed make the Olds swap a little easier, but not an absolute "must have". When you say 455, it could be Buick or Poncho also......that I cant help with, but I have done the Olds & will say it was badazz Shoot a little more info out, but my guess is that you need to locate the trans, & "bubble" the intake level,(or as close as you can) & start welding. Bear in mind , that the engines in these old trucks were set in with a 4 degree down hill , as looking at the side of the frame for level, & the intake sits on a different slope to compensate(set the carb back level). Best of luck.... L

Re: Where these came from?

That's what I used on the caddy swap, a very nice piece to install oddball stuff.
