68 Smog system complete, Any Value?
I just picked up a rather stock 68 C10 custom.
It ihas what appears to be a 307, three on the tree and a smog pump. I dont need or want the smog system is there any value to this thing? Thanks, Thomas

Someone may have an interest in it. I would suggest taking pics of the whole installation before removing it and keep all of the components to the system together, (including any fasteners that are specific to the setup).

I agree. I would take pictures of everything before you remove it. These original smog systems are worthless to most of us, but there are always those folks out there who want to restore a truck to 100% factory original and this would be a hard part to get for them. Try listing the smog system for sale on eBay or Hemmings. You'd be surprised what you'll get for it!

I still run my somg pump set up. Most rodders look at me cross-eyed when I tell them I put it back on after my rebuild. I think it adds to the cool factor on a nice bone stock truck.

As I understand the year break is 68 up for checking for emissions equipment in TX depending on your county maybe (supposed to be there if equipped)---67 is not checked ---neither has an emission test

I had a very nice setup a few years ago, nobody was interested. I ended up giving it to a guy nearby who likes them all stock. Ebay is probably your best bet.

Did not know that, However the truck will never be back on the road, at least as a 68 anyway. AS solid as it is it is a shame but the way it has to be. Had been sitting for about 20 years, the last six under some trees while the bed was used to hold scrap metal and beer cans. She will donate her front clip to either a 69 project truck or at worst to my 67 GMC. The engine and tranny along with the unmolested 3 on the tree might go to my 67 project also. Which is why I first thought the smog stuff will be tossed aside. Someday,,,, SOmeday when I get a chance to work on them. Looking like photos and storage for now. Thanks all.
