I have a 3/4 ton 4x4 lwb that I would like to change to a swb, does anyone have a swb 4x4 frame they would like to sell? Also is there any difference between a 1/2 ton 4x4 frame and a 3/4 ton frame? Can i get a swb 4x4 1/2 ton frame and just put all my running gear on the 1/2 ton frame?thanks for any info . Mike

You shouldn't have any trouble with putting 3/4ton gear under a 1/2 ton frame. In fact when (if ever) I get the money to start fooling with my 72 blazer I wanna put 3/4 ton running gear under it.

Exclamation Re: WTB SWB 4x4 frame

you can also shorten your frame. if it's done properly you don't lose strength, there's a shop here locally that does it for a reasonable cost as long as the body is off. they do a "Z" cut and butt weld it.

Re: WTB SWB 4x4 frame

I still have mine. I do have a buyer, but he hasn't come up with the money yet. It is a original short frame with 3/4 ton axles and springs, new spring bushings, a rebuilt 350 with aluminum intake, holley carb and hedders, rebuilt 350 trans, new transfer case adaptor, rebuilt transfer case, new driveshafts, HD radiator, shroud, brake booster & MC, and a clear title for $2000. mkmiller1 (Mathew) may still have his too, I'm not sure. He is only an hour or so north of me. Both of these trucks are on the "trucks for sale" board, but are probably a few pages back now.
