does any body know what coil spring compresser to use to install the springs on a 71 i have done it with a floor jack but it is just the bare frame and its not enough weight for it to compress

please help

ok-hold down the laughter. I had the same problem. $6 grade 8 bolt, cold rolled steel 5/16" strap and some 3/4" pole washers. worked great. notice the slight angle

Most auto parts stores rent the compressor you need for stock springs.
For my ECE drop springs, I had to locate a compressor made specifically for Mustangs, it mounts entirely inside the spring.

I would suggest getting some more weight on the truck. Maby someone you know can kinda sit on the hood while you set the spring. Its best to have three people. One on the hood, one at the jack lifting it up, and one guiding the spring and wrasslin with the castle nuts to get them on.

At least thats the way I did it.

i went to autozone and they had two different oreillys had one neither worked

wrap a chain over the upper control arm (prevent it from slipping with a largeC-clamp) and under the floor jack and outthink the spring
