V6 in a 1/2 ton?

this morning I got to looking at my 67 stepside VIN plate. granted this thing has been messed with more than a 65 year old prostitute but what I found interesting is its starts with CM15.
I wonder what kind of gear it may actually have. its a low hump floor with no shifter holes. I got excited when I saw 4.10 posi listed in the glovebox.........until I saw the vin there didnt match the plate.
as a matter of fact I'm not even sure this thing was originally a stepside, a short fleet or what.

well, my old 69 GMC 1/2 ton was a 305/TH400, and it had a stock 3.07 gear as standard equipment.

CM15 means 1/2 ton GMC V-6, no question. Low hump floor means 3 speed column shift or automatic (which could be a TH400 or a 'Glide, even with the V-6) 4X2.

Yes, maybe so, because I have seen 1/2 ton short box 4X2 automatic Big Blocks with big hump floors in them. BTW- in '67 most GMC's didn't have the glove box equipment/options sticker.

the same is true for my 68 GMC. not to mention how it has 66 style armrests.
Andy, this is definately a low hump floor. do the rules get thrown out the door when it comes to GMC? you guys simply MUST see the mirror above the windshield in my 68. I'll have to post a pic if I can find it.

The normal rules on the hump seems to be the same, but the V-6 1/2 ton is added to that list of rules.... from what I've seen... and it has only been 2 or 3 plus my old one.

My '67 has '66 armrests, too. The CM15 we have been discussing mast have been a 3 speed column shift.
