Re: Transmission

I'm not positive on when it started, but '88(?)-'9x trucks you could get a 350/5 speed.

Re: Transmission

I just put a getrag nv3500 5-speed from a 89 1500 behind a 82 4-bolt 350

I am wondering why you would want to have them bolted together when it is a good idea to take it apart and put a clutch set in it and surface the flywheel?????

Re: Transmission

Camero,s & Corvetts had 350 engine & 6 speed trans. The s-10 pickups had a 5 speed that works behind a v-8 with some minor modifications but they are fairly light duty . I,m getting ready to put one in my 55 with 350 engine.

Re: Transmission

the six speed in a vette and maro is a t-56 and I am pretty sure they came behind ls1's. the getrag is stronger than the t-5 unless you get a world class.

the getrag is also the same size as a 350 trans so all you have to do to your driveshaft is change the u-joint and the yoke.
