Anyone have a 90-95 Chevy truck with a 5.7?

Hey guys!

Does anyone here have a 90-95 Chevy truck with a 350 in it? I'm needing a few serpentine bracket pics. I had some 4.3 brackets on my truck, but didn't feel my pass side bracket was solid enough to hold up. However, I've been looking at ebay etc, and I think the 90-95 brackets may be exactly what I am needing.

However, before I go buy anything, I'd love to see a few pictures of them bolted up to an engine as there are a few things I need to know.

First is how high the belt sits when everything is installed. My TPI throttle body sits about 5 inchs above the intake to block making line, and the belt, nor anything else can sit higher than that.

Second is how the pass side bracket bolts up. In the pictures I've seen online, the bracket bolts into two or three holes up tops in the head, then the two bolt holes down by the bottom of the block. If thats the case, that'd be absolutely perfect as I have the top two holes, and the bottom hole, but not the third one up top.

Third is how the tensioner is run. I need to know if I am going to have tensioner to air intake / throttle body clearance issues. From the center of the throttle body, I can't have the tensioner sit closer than 4.5 inches from the center of the water pump shaft.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I've got one of those ones on my 89 as well. The big bracket and the tensioner sit up too high. While the throttle body does sit behind the bracket, and you can technically bolt it on, it'd be impossible to get an air filter on. I cannot use the smaller two peice brackets from the 4.3s either, as the pass side relies on the heads having bolt holes that mine don't have.

However, the 90-95 setups are a two peice aluminum setup.

Here is a pic of what I'm needing:

Russell

I just got out of work. I have just been working this out on my crate engine and putting the serp brackets from the 4.3 on it. The Pictures from brain look a little different than mine. Give me about 30/40 minutes and I'll run up to the shop and take a few shots of what I have.

Re: Anyone have a 90-95 Chevy truck with a 5.7?

OK Russell

First shot shows the alternator bracket (driver side) loosely in place. It uses the two bolt holes on the head and the upper bolt hole down next to the crank.

The AC and tensioner bracket (passenger side) Again uses the upper hole by the crank and my passenger head only has one hole (outer edge) and it bolts there. There are two support brackets that bolt to the rear of the tensioner and one rod goes to the front intake manifold stud, the other bolts to the intake or pass side intake bolt. I don't have my intake on to tell for sure. I am told that these two rods are different from the 4.3 and the smallblock, but I can't confirm yet until I get my intake on. I am told that they need to be longer for the 5.7. The last picture shows the bolts I am using to hold the brackest on and the rde lines show about how the tensioner support rods would look.

There is another bracket on the driver side the goes from the rear of the alternator and bolts to the back of the power steer pump. If you are running headers, you have to trim that off. I could find that one at the moment to show the mod.

I'll have some more shots this weekend as I'll be lookng at a few trucks that have them intalled
