Dash Speaker Question

What size is the factory dash speaker? Is it a 5x7 or a 6x9? Its been a while and I threw away the old cracked factory speaker and was wondering if anybody else can remember what size they were. Thanks.

Re: Dash Speaker Question

They look like 4x10's from pictures that I have seen. Kenwood and Pioneer still make them, but you would have to buy the pair, a better idea would be to buy an adapter plate that would let you put two 4" speakers in there, giving you stereo sound...Crutchfield has them, I'm sure, Metra might also carry the plates. Might wanna give one of them a call. Also, if I remember correctly, LMC had some dual-voice coil ones in there catalog, but they are prolly over priced and not very good quality.

Re: Dash Speaker Question

Although you can fit a variety of speakers in the dsh, 4x10 is the factory sizer. The head unit you are using, factory or aftermarket, will determine exactly the specs on the speaker, 4ohm, 8ohm or 10ohm.
