What headers for 72 K10 4 speed?

I read all of the old header posts and didn't really find what I was looking for. I have a stock 72 K10 with a four speed manual transmission that I am building. The body is off and the frame is done so now is the time for headers. What headers will fit my truck? I used Dynamax coated headers on the 67 that I just sold but it had an automatic. They fit great but after about 1500 miles and one year the coating started showing rust around the collectors. Which headers fit and will last? I saw some stainless headers on ebay, anybody have experience with them?

I only have experience with cheap Hooker headers. Whatever you get, make sure it lists '72 K-something. I think that ones for 73-87 K-something will fit too.

It's always a pain to fight the Z-bar mount. With headers the mount is right between two tubes.

I use the hedmans; I had to drill a new hole for the z bar (about 1" behind the original) but it is clear and the clutch linkage moves freely now.

Z Bar? you mean the bar the clutch lever and spring is attached to? How did you move it back? looks like it will only mount in one place on the motor?

I took a set of rusty old headers off of this truck and it came in front of that bar and didn't interfere at all. I don't know what brand they were though.

Re: What headers for 72 K10 4 speed?

Actually the frame side is loose. I was getting the linkage hooked up and need a few parts before I tighten it. It moved freely without any binding or rubbing.
