What to do with my old 350?

I have the new 350 crate motor in the garage. Cannot get my $100 core back because the block is cracked.

What to do with the old engine? Save the heads / cam-lifters / bottom end? Or just toss on scrap heap?

Thanks. Daubs

They make good table stands

I'm probably going to turn mmine into scrap whenever I get unlazy enough to haul the load of scrap metal I have to the recycler.

Me, I would save everything that is in rebuildable shape and make trotline weights out of the rest of it. A scrap yard might work if you don't fish.

Re: What to do with my old 350?

had a friend back home with a 70'ish chevy wrecker. the 350 in it had froze and cracked and been welded. he had been running the motror i know 5 five years and it was a good motor.

i guess the point is, cracked doesnt automatically mean its scrap.

Where is it cracked at?....It may be able to be welded back by someone who can weld cast.........probably not a good idea if its near the rotating assy.
