one more inner fender question...

ok guys,
i am ready to put the inner fenders back on & i just want to double check. i use the long 2" or so bolts with like the 3 " washers on the cab end of the inner fender & then the regular bolts with the three holes up front at each fender right???

also do i put anything in between the cab & the fender where that long bolt goes into the cab support??? or do i just press the inner fender up next to it & put the bolt in???

it seems like a really long bolt for the area that it goes into...

thanks!!

p.s. any picks at the inner fender & cab area would be great!!!

Re: one more inner fender question...

GM sometimes put shims in between cab and inner fender, my 68 had one only on the passenger side, about 1/4 thick. We replaced them with aftermarker inner tubs and ended up with about 1/2 of large fender washers for shims on boh sides. That inner fender adjustment there can tweak your outer fender around some, so you may want to watch the hood/fender alignment and try different shim combos.

Re: one more inner fender question...

I just removed the inner fenders on my 71 so it's still fresh in my mind.

The bolt that goes in to the cab mount was 1 3/4 inch with a 2 1/4 inch washer. There were two 5/8 inch bolts one in the lower rear, outer most corner and the other one was the first bolt in the rear of the fender lip. The remaining bolts securing the inner fender were 7/8 inch. All of the bolts, other than the big one, had a standard size washer.

There was nothing between the inner fender and support on my truck.

if you still need some pictures, let me know.
