Post Longhorns

How many longhorn trucks do all of you usually see? I have seen 3 since I have known what they were. One in the junk yard, one really beat up one with a camper on it, and one that had a nice new paint job, but it was already had a bunch of dents in it. I asked the owner a few questions about it, but he really didn't want to talk about it. He also said that he had taken the truck in to have body work done, and they just never put the longhorn badges back on and he never saw them again.

I haven't seen a whole complete one in over a year now. I have seen 2 since I heard about them. My old CST/20, and a '71 C-20 turd on a tx car lot.

I had never seen one until I saw the one I bought on sight. I figured it was a rare truck.

I didn't know about them until my brother-in-law bought one, then I ended up buying it from him. I found Longhornmails site and realized I had a rare truck. I just recently saw a 72 Chevy Longhorn at the junkyard with a good bed.

The first one I saw was 15 years ago in a junkyard. It was in Texas and still had the Longhorn emblems. I thought it was a Texas thing. Leave and Learn.

Never seen one in Louisiana.

Gun control, the theory that 110lb. women have the "right" to fistfight with 210lb. rapists.

The reason animal rights activists are more passionate about fur than leather is because it's safer to harrass rich women than bikers...

I found mine in a small town outside of Tucson six years ago with a for sale sign in the window. I bought it on the spot. All the others I've seen have been 3/4 ton but mine is a 1 Ton (Custom Camper 30) with 402, 4 speed, tach dash and factory air.

I bought my 72 c30 1 ton longhorn Custom camper cheyenne about 1 year ago from a Kid who was selling it for his friend that had just left the area. The rockers and Cab corners are gone but it was an arizona truck and the frame is in awesome shape. It has a 400bb auto 400, tilt, air, tool box in bed, and it runs well. Some other guy was trying to buy it and had come to look at it 3 diffrent times and kept trying to get the kid to come down from his $1500.00 price! I saw it and immediately asked him how much he would take and he said $1,300.. I bought it and have enjoyed it ever since. My next step is to do a full restoration. My wife wanted me to sell it and buy a restored truck but I highy doubt that I would ever find the same truck anywhere else.
I love my Longhorn!

I never saw any until I bought mine, now I see them here and there. I think a one ton pickup is pretty cool, when I found mine I was on my way to buy a new dodge V10 2wd 3/4 ton, but there this truck was, 48000 original on the clock, build sheets, all records, in very nice shape for $2000, so I bought it instead, and loved it ever since. It has taken me across country, carrying parts from Colorado junkyard back to Maine.
Anyway, there is one in a local boneyard, and there was a nice 38,000 mile but rusted badly longhorn 1969 under a pine tree with the camper still on it, I wonder if it is still there.
I saw a red one with a giant dent in the side last summer, but, yes, no matter how you slice it they are still less common than the other pick-ups.
