Re: What did you get done this weekend?

I've been busy painting engine and assorted parts. The original 350 gave up the ghost, so I'm preparing a crate 350 to drop in. But I couldn't live with that ugly black paint...so she's Chevy Orange right now. I'll post pics soon.

I went to an a salvage yard auction Sat. and bought 2 '67 Impala Fastback Super Sports and a front clip from a '67 RS/SS Camaro including the grille and headlight doors I drove the '67 C-30 to a local car show with the fam. Tomorrow I'll be using the '69 C-30 to bring the 2 Impalas home (2 70 mile trips) ...yay

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Cut up some more old truck pieces to haul off for scrap later this week. I also got the engine dropped into the frame today. Forgott to get new some new flex plate and torque convertor bolts, so the tranny hook up and all will be later this week.

Picked up new countertops in the 68, then installed them in the kitchen. Also went to a local car show.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Washed truck, got tranny in and crossmember, Unbolted engine from correct holes (dummy) moved forward to the wrong holes, then moved back where it was before I got clever. That part was a *****! I could have been doing anything else Lesson learned! Started the custom fiberglass glove box single DIN holder. Removed vent windows for one piece Electric ones that will be a comin'!

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Nothing as Friday night out with friends, woke up saturday with the hangover from hell, drove 200 odd miles to be at a friends 40th birthday bash, got up Sunday with a hangover, popped in to see one of my sisters on the 200 odd mile drive back. Plus for the last week or so it's been raining so hard here I've been waiting for Noah to come floating past collecting my two cats for a cruise!

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Took a trip up to Greenville, MS for the ShowFest event. Got in Friday early afternoon. Met up with a couple of the guys from Primedia and did a photo shoot with them later that evening. Saturday morning, I had to load everything up and rush back home due to a family emergency. Got to cruise around and enjoy my truck tough!

Oh, and finished swapping out the bed wood on Friday morning. Back to real Mahogany this time around. (Trying to match the steering wheel)

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

I put all new brake components on my wife's '68. Then I couldn't get any pressure to the rear. I put on a new proportioning valve, same thing. I got a brand new BAD master cylinder that wouldn't pump to the rear!! What a bunch of grief that caused. Anyway she'll stop on a dime now.

I put the emblems on my C-10 and started taking the power steering pump off for replacement. I got sidetracked by a motorcycle ride :-D

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Figured out that I had no rear brakes on the rear of my truck, so I fixed that. Also clearanced my motor mount tower on the passenger's side to give my headers a little more room.

hey- sounds like my weekend. cut grind weld, etc. hahahaha

I cut the front 3" off my frame, so I can mount my forward tilt front-end.

I welded 2"x2" 1/4" thick angle in the frame, and radiused the top so the hinge will sit nicely.

OK for driveway work....
.. I suppose.
