bought me a 68
Hi guys, I went and paid the guy for the 68 3/4 ton pickup tonight and took down some numbers. I was wondering if someone can help me decifer what they are. Underneath the vin number on the door jam was a two letter code "DD" and on the engine block it has the code "V0824YS". can someone tell me what these mean? I really appreciate the help.

Hmm, Now you have me wondering. I just went out and looked and I have the same "DD"
Is yours as CE (V Eight) or CS (I Six) model? Are any optional engines listed? I'm sure someone can run that number for you. Congrats on your purchase! That's a very nice truck. We need to start a 68 club!

YS is a '66, '67 or '68 327 4bbl mated to a manual trans from a C-10 to C-35 truck. Factory hp rating was 220. Should be the original motor in your new truck.
