I can't call the k5 leaky anymore
I got done rebuilding the transfer case and engine this week. Engine now has vortec heads caomp cams Xtreme 4x4 12-243-3 and coated bearings and pistons. im going to start on the tranny next week. I have to pressure wash all the oil and crud out of the engine bay this weekend. I don't think the engine I pulled out had ever be rebuilt, you could turn it over by had with the balancer with the plugs in it. It still had the plastic timing gear and the chain had so much slack it rubbed a hole in the bottom of the timing cover, the block had been cracked from sitting outside for so many years with out coolant. I cant belive i drove this thing to work 20 miles everyday for 8 months. I going from less that 100hp to 330, I wont know what to do.

Re: I can't call the k5 leaky anymore
Sweet!
I wasn't brave enough to rebuild my Tcase. I did remove it and reinstall it when I had the Tranny rebuilt as well. The Tcase still cost $600 for a complete overhaul. It's looking good. Gotta love the orange.

Re: I can't call the k5 leaky anymore
I have a comp 4x4 cam in my GMC and love it, I was impressed with the low end torque I got out of my 355 with that cam and an EPS intake. Looks great I'll bet you cannot wait for it to run.
