After Ten Years...... Paint!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this truck waaaaaaaaaaay back in 1996 when I was 15. I sanded the body down and my dad shot it in some black primer with a clear in it. Well, it's been that way ever since. I'll just post the paint pics here, but when I get more time I'll add to my "build thread" about all the steps before this. I hope to have the bed finished by the end of June. (I have to drive to columbia, 2 hour drive, to work on the truck)

Re: After Ten Years...... Paint!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually did the primer and paint job this time. I actually have two small runs (only seen up close) on the hood and cowl and I posted a help question in the paint section and was told that metallic urethane paints can't be wet sanded. So I'm going to either hit the hood and cowl again (I have lots of extra paint) or let it go... I'll probably respray them when I spray the bed. They can only be seen from a couple feet away, but the rest of the truck came out SO nice I hate to leave them.

Re: After Ten Years...... Paint!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, not actually columbia, but most peeps don't know where Gilbert/lexington is. I can make it to cola/irmo in about 1hr20 min, but the truck is at my uncles house near Gilbert (he lives in lexington, but on the county line of lex/gilbert), off exit 51 off hwy 20, about 15 minutes off the highway.

Re: After Ten Years...... Paint!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks mighty fine. You might want to wet sand those front tires again...I still see blue paint on the tread!!!

I was wondering if anyone was ever going to say anything about that. The rear tires are bald and dry rotted. The front tires are fairly new but the shop that did the alignment did a bad job and they wore unevenly after only 5K miles. The rims are also rusty and bent. Long story short she's getting new rims and tires

Re: After Ten Years...... Paint!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K. I'm real familliar with exit 51. I work at Michilen right off the exit. I thought from the sand that it looked like the lexington area or also the north east, Thought I would ask. I will be driving mine tomorrow to work. Its actually nice to drive now since i put the new seat in it. Oh yeah! your truck looks nice.
