Another lwb to swb question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This is pointed at the people who have done it. If you started this with a truck that was a complete lwb and wanted to cut it down, just the frame for starters, how long would it take 2 guys who are pretty good at this kind of thing to do it if they worked from sun up to sun down? I have a short vacation coming up and that is why I am asking. I would hate to get half way through it and have to go back 300 miles to my house and go back to work. So just shoot me some rough estimates. Thanks in advance.
And the only reason I was asking about the frame only is because I am just going to buy new bedsides.

I have a buddy who drive a LWB in the garage and drive out a SWB in under 3hours. Granted he has done more than 1 or 2 and has a bed ready to go.

Measure carfully twice and cut once, move your cab mounts , shorten brake and fuel lines, shorten drive shaft, modify exhaust, a few little things and mount the bed. Drive out.

yep sounds about right 3 to 4 hrs, my brother has done 3 so far, but we have removed everything cab, bed,, all of the ones he has did thou, we wasnt on a rush for time, but cutting the frame only takes him maybe 1/2 hr total, cuttin and re welding,, good luck and gather everything you think youll need before ya start,
