Floor Hump Cover Removal For Clutch Change?
I have to drop the tranny to put in a new throwout bearing so I might as well change the whole kit-n-kaboodle. I have the Muncie 465 trans behind my 402. I just want to remove the 4 trans to bellhousing bolts and leave the bellhousing in place. Is there enough wiggle room to slide the trans back or do I have to take out the hump cover in order to do it?

The shifter won't let you go back far enough to get the front shaft past the bearing. The tranny needs to go back about the length of the bell housing.
