Tire size suggestions for 15x8 truck rallies
Any suggestions for this size wheel (manufacturer, size). I have 225x60's on there now, but think I need to go to 70's for better handling.

A 70 series would be worse for handling...would help the ride, but not handling.
THe shorter the sidewall, the firmer the ride. Less rubber to flex and cusion the jolts. That also translates in quicker reaction times whan turning, and les tire roll to get in the way. on your 225/60's, the sidewall is 60% the width of the tread...a 70 would be 70%, there for taller. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. I run a 275/60/15 rear,on a 15x8 wheel....but prefer a 225/70 front on a 6 1/2 or 7" wheel. I feel that the 70 series tire handles better on the front. your 225/60s will have a rougher ride,& are pretty short for the truck. JMO....69longhorn.

I've used 325/75 r15s and 31x10.5s, they both look nice, but I've always had 4x4s.

Is it lowered at all?
I've got 245/60-15s on the front of my '70, they're as wide/tall as I can go without lots of rubbing (and I still get some on the rare bump that doesn't bottom it out but is still huge) - 2.5" drop spindles, they're pushed out a bit thanks to the ECE disc conversion. The rears are 275/60-15s. (Radial T/As all around). 4" drop, not even close to rubbing. ------------------ Project 1970 - soon to be seen at http://milhouse.treylis.org:81/

I run 275/60-15 BFG T/A front and rear. I don't know how much it is lowered, I cut the coils about 10 years ago. They don't rub at all. I've never mesured the backspacing of the wheels but the look close to rallies.

255/70R15 Firehawks for me,,,,they ride fine,,,,handle fine,,,,fill the hole and look good. I also have a 2+3 drop.

You need a balance between handling and ride. If it's a street truck your looking more towards ride, use the 70's. You have a 5000 lb truck, your not going to road race corvettes at Sebring. I run the 75's, real truck rubber. I want them to last and handle everything I throw at them. I have run 50/60 combo on one truck and it was ok but I used them up all the time and it was a hot rod anyway. If I want to race, I'll drag out the Manta
