New Paint Pics

I primed and painte the front half of my truck yesterday. It is my first time spraying paint ( besides out of a can). I am really happy with the results. The paint is made by Dupli-Color and it's called Silver Mist Metallic. All I had to do was thin the paint down and shoot it. Here are some pics I took of it in the garage, I was hoping to get it outside today to see it sparkle but it is raining .

Re: New Paint Pics

I can't make the pics small enough ( I'll have to figure it out to post pics) It says my pics are 1.1 MB and they need to be 100 KB

Re: New Paint Pics

Or if you have XP, Download power toys, bad @ss program, you can highlight
all of your pic's at one time and resize them as the Originals, or make copies.

Re: New Paint Pics

I still can't post the pics. It says I exceeded the limit of 100 KB. I hate computers, mostly because I can't make them do anything I want. TugOwar could you post them?

Re: New Paint Pics

I used a Mastercraft siphon feed gun I bought for 90 bucks at Canadian Tire. I was really impressed with the way it sprayed, but it is the only gun I have ever picked up. The sky is the limit on spray guns I think you just have to decide how often you are going to use the thing

Re: New Paint Pics

SATA makes one of the best guns but trust me you will pay dearly for it. I use MAC Tools brand gravity feed guns for the primer, sealer, paint, and clear. Thing is I have 4 seperate guns to do this with. I use one gun for each ingredient. Primer and epoxy are very hard on the needle in a gun because of the solids content. I pay about $80-90 for one of these guns. The SATA Millenium will set you back around $400 +/-. I have a new HVLP siphon feed that I have yet to try. First time will be when I shoot sealer/primer on some repop F@RD parts for a restore we are doing (imagine someone doing a frame of restore of a 1978 Ford 4x4). But he is paying dearly for it.

Re: New Paint Pics

The Mac Tools guns I use are rebranded DeVilbis. All parts are interchangable.

For undercoat I like the Devilbiss PRi gun
For Basecoat I like the Sata Jet2000 or Devilbiss GTi
For Clear I like the Iwata LPH-400

I think the DeVilbiss GTi gun is a GREAT all-around gun, as is the IwataLPH-400. The Iwata will mottle a bit on really heavy metalics unless you use the new aircap with with 3 holes.
