Accelerator/ Throttle Cable Adjustment

I have a '72 that needs some adjustment on the throttle cable- the pedal is sitting on the floor and isn't opening the throttle all the way. Is there any way of adjusting other than cutting the crimped ball off of the pedal end and putting a new one on?

I jacked around on the carb side and couldn't find any adjustment there......

Re: Accelerator/ Throttle Cable Adjustment

The throttle and kickdown cable bracket behind the carb should place the throttle cable back where it needs to be. Maybe the cable slipped out and moved forward. The black sleeve of the cable has a piece that fits in. If it worked before and everything is in correct position, then the cable maybe broke, but that is an unlikely guess.

Re: Accelerator/ Throttle Cable Adjustment

That's it. Loosened the back driver side carb bolt and moved the bracket back where it should be. Damn, having the secondarys fire up does add a bit of a kick when you stomp on it.

Hells yeah.
