Fuel Tank Compatibility Between Years

What years are exactly the same and what years are interchangeable. In other words if it is not factory correct, but will physically bolt in and work I'm calling that interchangeable. I'm selling the tank from my '61 and a guy wants to know if it will fit a '68. Not trying to sell here, just looking for some info.

I can figure it out for you this week. I have a '65 sitting in my back yard now, and i'm getting (hopefully, if the deal goes thru) a 69 or 70 GMC this week. I'll take a look and compare if somebody else doesn't beat me to it.

Re: Fuel Tank Compatibility Between Years

Just parted a 66, threw away the tank since it was full of rust. I set it beside a 1970 tank and it looked like a twin.
