1972 np205 transfer case auto or 4 speed
I just bought a 1972 super cheyenne body on a 4x4 frame that is an automatic. However I have a transfer case that a friend told me was a stick shift? Is there a difference?? I have no transmission yet?? I need to see what trans will work with this transfer case. If not I am thinking about mounting the body on a late model running gear?? Any thoughts?

The transfer case will work with either one if you have the right adapter. Do you have any adapter now? If not look up advance adapters on the web and you will find what you need.

How much did the adapter cost? Advance is pretty proud of what they make. It would probably be cheaper to find the correct transfer case or input gear than to use that.

Yeah, they think a lot of their stuff. I think I paid $600 for the th400 kit. The only problem is that transfer cases and old truck parts are REALLY scarce around here. I have talked to other people that said they could have saved me money. Isn't that always the way?
