Blaster, media question
Just bought a Harbor Freight blaster cabinet. Now I need to buy some blast media.
Looking for advice on which media is best for cleaning up small/medium size parts. Going by Harbor Freight today. I know they carry a couple of types.

i use silcone carbide lasts long less dust but is more expensive to use

I always use Glass Beads. They come in different grits. I get the medium grit.

I use silicone carbide (240 grit and 120 grit), and walnut shells (20/30 grit) depending on what I am doing. I get everything from MSC Industrial. I don't use glass, too much dust and it breaks down quickly.

It depends on what you are blasting. I use silicon carbide for rusty parts and glass bead for aluminum and light oxidation and I also get it from MSC Industrial (I work there).

I use 80 grit Garnet. it seems to work excellent on rusty truck parts and lasts what seems like forever
whatever you do ....just do not ever use Silca Sand unless you have a fresh air resporator! |

Ended up with glass beads 80 grit. HF also had aluminum oxide and walnut hulls.
I order from MSC regularly for work. I'll try them for media.
