Oh My What Yonder Window Breaks......
Well this was going to start off with a little dry humor, but the title blew it...
OK.. My wife gets into my Burb today, shuts the door, and as I am turning my head in her direction ( all of this was in cinema ultra slow motion) I see a crack start, then finish. It started from the middle edge(by the door handle) and went 8 inches out, then up to the top.. This is the Front passenger. DOOHHHH!!!!!! Now, I need to replace. I saw a GMC pickup in a junk yard, dont know what year it is, but I think it still has its glass. Will any 67-72 pickup side passenger glass fit right into my 72 GMC Burb??? If so, I will be in great shape cause that one will be cheap. If not, off to the classifieds.......... Thanks Jeff |

No, burb glass is specific, doesn't have the radius on the back edge, it comes to a sharp angle. Good luck!

Re: Oh My What Yonder Window Breaks......
Off to the classified for you. The burb has squared corners at the top rear of the door where the pickups are rounded. Sorry. Any good glass shop should be able to cut you a new window as they are laminated not tempered glass.

Go with a One piece window for the front doors. I think Mothertruckers has them for the burb.

Here's a question for ya: What do you think caused the window break? I'd hate to see you have the same problem with your new window.

Re: Oh My What Yonder Window Breaks......
The felts are pretty much gone on that side. SO new felts and channels will be put in before a new window. there was a lot of play in the window...
And what I did not mention before is that is was rolled down about half way..... |
