Where can i find info on the net about chevy 6 cyl. It has been 30 yrs since i have been into one now that i own two of them. My 68 C 10 and my 65 C 50 wrecker. I need specs on valve lash- timing etc-etc- I got the 65 wrecker running after setting for 15 yrs.It sounds good. Try www.inliners.org or www.stovebolt.com, or ask here, I'm sure one of these guys knows.

Re: need to talk 6 cyl ( I must be getting old)

Valve lash one turn down from zero, just like a V8.
Dwell: 31-34*, point gap .016 used .019 new
Timing 4* BTDC, but can be set 10-12* if it doesn't ping. HEI will help a lot.
Plug gap: .035
Firing order 15 is to young, 36 is to old, 24 is just right.

If you need any more I'll have to get out a book.

Too bad he didn't look before he started whining about his post getting moved here.

Some of the Old Timers on this Forum know a little about the L6.
