Removal of Wiper arms

ive noticed that the wind shield wiper arms are press on. whats the eaisest way of removing and reinstalling them??? i would really like to reinstall them without having to buy new ones. thanks for your imput.

There is a clip underneath where they mount to the stub sticking out of the cowl. Push the clip back and they will release. On mine I used one of those small right angle straight blade screwdrivers to release the clip, just make sure to put something under it as you pry so not to scratch or dent the cowl.

There is a special tool for prying the wiper blades off the splines without damaging the paint. About $10 from Amazon I think.

I wholeheartedly agree with this one. Dont try and mess with the clip you are just likely to mess something up if you are poking around there with a screw driver. It is a really simple tool that you can get that makes taking them on and off a snap (less than 30 seconds a blade). It is worth the money.

Hmph. When my dad and I first started taking apart my '72 we had a fancy tool...We ended up throwin it out the garage door and grabbing a screwdriver! :P
