Need To Dip My Cab!! Anyone Know Who Does It In East Texas?

My Cab Is Ready For A Dip. I Can't Figure Out How To Find A Place In East Texas That Will Do It. I Live Between Longview And Tyler Texas. Does Anyone Know Where I Could Take It?

Before you dip your cab, consider having it blasted instead. I had a car dipped by a professional establishment. Two years later the solution that couldn't be rinsed from the metal seams started lifting the new paint. Since then I have had all my restorations blasted and have had no paint problems. Just a suggestion from experience.

Do a search for "Soda-Blast".I don`t have the website, but that`s the latest greatest way to go.

Re: Need To Dip My Cab!! Anyone Know Who Does It In East Texas?

alot of restorers won't have anything to do with soda blasting and the paint companies won't warrenty paint on a soda blasted surface all due to delayed reaction of the soda residue and the paint chemicals// walnuts plastic or glass beads are preferred by most top restorers i know

The Macco Shop down here uses plastic beads. I took all of my front sheet metal, both doors, core support, fender wells, a complete dash, and alot of small parts. They charged me $150. If I would have brought the cab too it would have been $250.

There's a mobile blasting service in central Arkansas that will come to your door and complete the task on site . I've seen his work and it's spectacular. He charges 75.00 an hour with a small fuel surcharge depending on the distance traveled. He offers several different medias to blast with. His name is Eddie Scarberry and he's going to blast my hauler bed and chassis this fall. His number is 501-745-1222 cell and 501-745-8291 home. Give him a ring, Dean

Re: Need To Dip My Cab!! Anyone Know Who Does It In East Texas?

Another problem with dipping it... an inactive member up in Kalamazoo Mi (protrucks) had a beautiful virgin cab, he is going all out on a SWB step side GMC, with a twin turbo SBC (i think a 383) running on propain... no money spared, total high dollar build up, travel across the country for a bed, then another long trip for a front clip... etc.
he had his virgin cab dipped, and rinsed, then a few months later, the cab literally started falling apart. Every single seam started to seperate...really sad, and he lost all interest in the truck. He hasn't touched it since the first time I was there 4 or so years ago... really sad.
Here is his motor... I can't find any other pics of the actual truck.

Re: Need To Dip My Cab!! Anyone Know Who Does It In East Texas?

i got my frame, rear end, trailing arms, front cross member, and few misc parts. done for 138$ after tax. and dropped it off on thursday and picked it up saterday ( not sure if thats normal for him to be open for pick ups on saterday, but arranged it before hand) and like i said above my friend brough over a 56 f-100 rolling frame,cab,etc..etc... basically a stripped down complete truck. and he did it for 350$$... best place i found and by far the best prices
if you have something specific you want done, give him a call and get a quote.
