Tire size question, for non lowered truck

I have a '67 2wd that has BFG radial T/A's on it. I am tired of dragging the ground over rocks, or getting stuck on curbs, etc. So, I would like to put some larger truck tires on it, but I don't know what size would fit and look good too. I will use 15" or 16" wheels, and was thinking of something in the 29"or 30" neighborhood. I am not adverse to putting in the 3/4 ton springs, or making slight mods to make it work, but I don't plan on going overboard to stuff 35s in. Does any body have some pictures of trucks set up this way?

235/75r15 is the size closest to stock tire size

Run some 31 x 10.50 x 15 on it. they fill the wheel well up and look pretty good on theese trucks.

Re: Tire size question, for non lowered truck

For stock height I always use 255/70/15 T/A's. Front tires in this pic are 255's, back are stock 235's.

Re: Tire size question, for non lowered truck

i would recomend the 235/75r15 i got a book at work called old timers fitment guide and it translates most stock 15 inch wheels to the 235/75r15 only reason i recomend it is it get the speedo the closest to being right plus you have a lot more options tire wise to pick from just my $.02

Re: Tire size question, for non lowered truck

Mine looks about like Heavy ds. The problem is that it is pretty rugged terain out here. The other problem is when I eithher get it loaded up, or have a trailer attached, I tend to bottom on the culvert at the end of my driveway.

Re: Tire size question, for non lowered truck

Mine also has the height of HeavyD's, but I am running 255/65r15 back and 245-65r15 up front. Stock height tires with a wider tread pattern.

Re: Tire size question, for non lowered truck

I finally went out and looked at my tire size. Right now they are 255/70/15s. They just seem a bit small to me.
