is this rare,, should i buy??

I found a really straight 76' tailgate from the salvage yard. It has very minimal surface rust,,,but the biggie (ithink) is that it has a perfect cheyenne (small inset) tailgate band. I am new to the 73-79's. I don't think you can buy that 70's cheyenne inset??? I can get the whole t-gate for $50. p.s. the only thing wrong is it is just a tad dull,,,,can these pieces be polished without any problems,, bringing back the shine???? I have tried hand polishing before with no success???any tips??? thanks Matt

Regardless of anything else, a mint tailgate is worth 50.00. The Cheyenne trim band is just icing on the cake, "if" someone needs it.

They are clear anodized so you would have to strip the coating off before you polish it.

I am assuming that it would need to be clear anodized again after polishing or else the shine will deteriorate pretty quickly????? am i wrong?
