hey, new here to the site, ive got a 72 GMC longbed, fleetside. i want to get some American Racing Torq Thrust II's for it, but i am unsure of what off set to order. becuase this is a popular wheel, i was hoping someone has alreay done the homework for me. thanks again, also does anyone know of a good paint place in the bay area?, the truck is extremely straight, only 4 dents total on the whole truck (all orig. body panels..i know this because i am the original owner...well my dad is atleast) thanks for the help, im so glad i found this site

Well... I'll answer a question with a question here...
You have the truck lowered at all?
What diameter rims you looking at?
What width?
What style tires you looking at running.... wide tires that are as tall as a rubber band? Normal 235/70 type rubber...some big-n-littles for the pro street look?

how dumb of me...sry bout that.

the truck is lowered 4" in teh front (spindles and springs)
and 6"in the rear (shackles and re-arched leaf springs)
was looking for some 18" x 8"wide wheels...no bigger
and i tire that will give me a decnt ride, no rubber bands for me please. its not a daily driver but i still want to keep it practical
i am debating weather to take the front springs out and put the stock ones back in it to raise it up 2 inches and put the stock shackles in the rear to raise it 2 inches in the rear..cause it sits a little to low (for my dads likings) and cause the long tube headers touch every know and hten. thanks again

Well, I can't say anything about 18's except, you are picking the only style that looks awsome IMO.
As for the spring consideration you are having... wait untill you put the new wheels and tires on. With wheels like that, too low looks a million times better than too high.

I would leave it low because I am guessing that you have 15'' wheels now and if you are upgradeing to 18'' wheels and don't want rubber band tires you should gain some ground clearance how much I don't know. Correct me if I am wrong.

thanks guys, now does anyone know about back spacing? and how to measure bolt pattern, i htink it is a 5 on 5... but i rather be 100 percent certain before i order the wheels.
