Re: Engine serial number

I've got the factory manual info from the late 50's until the early 80's if that helps. Send me the alpha code on the front passenger side pad and the date code off of the back of the block.

The date code is visible from the top and will be directly above the bellhousing bolts. For instance, the date code for my 454 is G-28-72 translating to July 28th , 1972.

The alpha code and partial VIN will be stamped into a pad equal to the blocks deck height , just in front of the head on the passenger side. Typically truck motors start with a "T" but any variation is possible. If the block has ever been decked these stampings may be gone or very difficult to read.

Hope this helps, Dean

Re: Engine serial number

10068036--should read-10066036=1980-1985 350 truck motor-4 bolt main-heco-meco crate motor. (no listing for the "8" one) check # again.
